Youth ECHO is a project of the Red Hook Community Justice Center. We are funded by the Independence Community Foundation, the New York City Council, and the New York University Social Venture Fund. We have had amazing support this cohort from Archie Bell, II, Art Director, Arnold New York, who created our logos and t-shirts; Interference, Inc. who assisted in creating the message and campaign; and from 826NYC who helped us make our documentary, "Knock the Hustle: The New Movement" (link coming soon!).

My name is Quinisha b.k.a Nisha and I am 14 years old. I live in Red Hook and I'm involved in Youth ECHO (even though our sessions are almost over). My favorite things to do are chill out in the park (Coffey Park). I love chilling with my friends. I am very loud, outgoing and funny. I am a fun person to be around. I love meeting new people and trying new things. I have an attitude problem at times and can be very moody. I don?t like conceited people and if you don?t know me then you?s a lame? (lol). This the kid Erica b.k.a Young EZE. Born in Brooklyn. Raised in Red Hook. I'm 17 years old and I'll be 18 on August 28. A Virgo baby ya dig. My favorite food is baked macaroni & cheese, curry and oxtails. I love my best friend Mara. I?m straight up?keep it 100% --24/7. I can?t stand shady people. My favorite desert is cheesecake. I love girls. I like to get my hands dirty and work hard. I enjoy listening to music and writing songs.  I like to be on the phone all day?only if I am talking to someone important. I love getting tattoos?I enjoy pain and it?s funny. I like working with the kids and I work all day, everyday. I hate to be bored ? it?s annoying.

Was good? My name is Nellis and I'm 15 years old. I love playing basketball and I love the fact that I am learning and improving myself because I just want to be the best I can be so that's the real reason I joined Youth ECHO--so that I can be a better person.

I went to M.S. 88 but now I go to Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School. I love to eat pizza, fried chicken, hot wings and fast food. I love to listen to Hip Hop, Reggae and R& B.

I joined this program so that I get to make a difference & have a say about my community. Hopefully I will inspire others that want to make a difference to join Youth Echo & finally have their say.

The name is Mara. I'm from Brooklyn, raised in Red Hook and I'm 17 years old. I love to be active. I am an outgoing person and I love my fam and friends. I hate a person who says one thing and does another. I like people who come correct and who is straight up. I am a person who loves people with a sense of humor. Working in Youth ECHO has changed some of my ways and thoughts about the community. It was fun and I learned so many things. Hmmm? I also love to get tats; I like to draw when I'm bored.
